Beautiful beaded mask from the Bamileke tribe of the Grasland of Cameroon.
This types of wooden masks were worn on top of the head.
The face is colourfull inlayed with beads of the color red and blue and decorated with cauri shells. The coiffure is formed by two wooden crocodiles.
Provenance: Ex private collection from Belgium. Collected in the period 1953 – 1959 (More details provided to buyer).
