Description

Abstract altar fetish “Aklama” Adan Ghana. “Aklama, Helping spirits of the Ewe and Dangme People from the Study collection of Horst Antes”. These small figures, made of light wood coated with pigments, are ritual objects of the voodoo cult and are used by the Ewe of the Adangbe / Ada language of Ghana, on the edge of Togo. These Ade statuettes represent the various deities linked to hunting, which are also common to the Yoruba and Ewe. Regarding their use, these objects are found on private altars, but as well grouped together in a basket and covered with a piece of cloth, like the Venavi of the Ewe.
