Ancestor figure – Baule – Wood – Ivory Coast

Beautiful Baule seated figure from Ivory Coast. Baule statues usually vary from 10 to 60 cm in height. They are are known for their figures with  hands resting on their abdomen in a gesture of peace, and their elongated necks supporting a face with typically raised scarification and bulging eyes.
Good condition with a wonderful aged patina and beautiful detailed coiffure.
