Stylistic well carved wooden ancestor figure from the Bena Lulua tribe of DR Congo. The figure display enlarged eyes and complex scarification patterns on the cheeks and typical body tattoos. Good condition with traces of wear and tear. The figure has aging cracks on the right side of the arm and leg.
Provenance: Manfred Schäfer collection, ex- gallery owner from Ulm, Germany.
