Large wooden ancestor figure from the Luba people of DR Congo. Total length: 78 cm, weight 8000 gram! This serene Luba figure epitomizes the art and mystery that carvers from this tribe have imbued in their sculpture. They quiet power of the figure elicits the respect that the tribe owed to their ancestors.. Good condition with an old aged patina. Contains old traces of not active woodworm.
