Wonderfull ancestor figure from the Mangbetu tribe of DR Congo.
The stylistic figure has a typical high fan-shaped hairstyle and its body adorned with tattoos, the ideal of MANGBETU beauty. Mangbetu art is famous for it`s realism, is a court art objects were displayed in the king`s presence as prestige paraphernalia.
The figure is in good condition with great shiny patina of age. The figure is kneeling in front of a cup. Four little ancestor heads are supporting the ancestor figure on their heads. Contains traces of wear and tear.
