Description

Beautiful Punu ancestor figure from Gabon. It is thought they were used as prestige objects, during magical cermonies, or were kept alongside the ancestral bones in a reliquary box. Overall good condition with clear traces of tribal use. The back part of the left hand seemed to be restored. The body is covered with scarifications and white kaoliën (phembe).

Provenance: former private collection from Belgium.

Shipping within 24 hours after the payment is received. Tracking number will be provided. Signature upon delivery. Fully insured.
May as well be viewed and picked up at the Asian African Art Gallery in Vessem (NL).
