Old Wurkun ancestor figure. Great patina of age with traces of wear and tear.
The Wurkun are known for their post figures. Their main purpose is to guarantee a fruitful harvest, in addition to ensuring the well-being of the owner and his family.
They are usually found displayed in fields with a large vessel for offerings at their side. Others are installed in shrines on farms, similar to the “tauwa” figures of the Chamba, they are then used to heal the ill.
