Description

Fine carved wooden broom with ancestor figurine from the Mangbetu tribe, former Belgian Congo. Used during ceremonial purposes. The ancestor figurine has a fine aged patina and has a fine face expression. Condition: good, made out of wood, hard straw and decorated with cauri shell and rope. Beautiful aged patina on the buste of the ancestor figure.

Provenance: Ex private collection from Belgium. Collected in the period 1953 – 1959 (More details provided to buyer).
