Exceptional terracotta pipe in the typical BAMUN style. The most important characteristics of this style are “puffed cheeks”. The borders are decorated with several ancestor faces and spiders. The mask of the pipe, which was crafted with clay was not moulded, the bowl of the pipe was carved in one piece of clay with a knife or a spatula. After the baking of the bowl of the pipe in a field oven, it is finished with black carbon or pigment. Unique piece of art.
Overall good condition, one small part of terracotta seem to be restored in the past. Please have a good look on the added pictures.
