Currency bracelet – Bronze – Dogon – Segou, Mali

Currency bars such as this were highly prized in Western Africa from 1600-1900. The style and make of this kind of bar was indigenous to most western African tribes, and was utilized not only as jewelry, but basically as portable wealth or currency! Here a wonderful example of an old Dogon bronze currency bracelet.
Poured according to the old technique of lost wax, each piece is original and unique.
