Dance mask – Wood – Bena Lulua – Congo DRC

Fine face mask with broad sides and toppart covering the entire head of the dancer. The surface with typical Lulua patterns of tattoo lying on top of the surface instead of being carved into it. Broad pointed forehead, protruding eyes, up-turned nose, oval mouth and small beard to the chin.

This detailed wooden mask is in good condition with a fine aged patina.
