Divination board- Wood, Horn – Songye – Congo

Old Songye divination board from DR Congo. It has a stylistic wooden ancestor figure in the middle of the plate.
It served to protect the family against diseases, accidents, bad spirits and bewitchment.
Good condition with a beautiful aged patina. The figure has a wonderful aged patina and the plate contains several magical horns.

Provenance: former private collection from the Netherlands.
