Fine face mask from Mbagani tribe DR Congo. Made out of wood and beautifully covered with phembe (white kaoliën) around the eyes.
This type of mask were worn during the initiation proces.
Flat face masks are worn, showing typically enlarged concave orbits and bulging coffee-bean eyes. Made out of wood and beautifully covered with white kaoliën around the eyes. Overall good condition with traces of tribal use.
