Very interesting Songye figure. Stylistic wooden ancestor figure of the SONGYE tribe from D.R. Congo
It served to protect the family against diseases, accidents, bad spirits and bewitchment.
Good condition with a beautiful patina. The janus figure (2 faces) has mutiple faces. 2 masks on top and a mask in the belly and a face on the back. Large and heavy piece, total weigh 5100 gram.
