Description

Beautiful mask from the BAMUN tribe of the Grasland of Cameroon.
This types of wooden masks were worn on top of the head.
The face is covered with yellow, red and blue powder. The coiffure is made from rattan and fabric. The top and inside part of the fabric is torn.

Provenance: Ex private collection from Belgium.
