The panels, called Yata, are worn, usually in pairs, in public ceremonies by Ifa priestesses. The measurement is the height of the panel and strap followed by the width of the panel. Most have a rigid fiber panel covered with cloth, on which the beads and other additions are sewn or attached.
Provenance: Manfred Schäfer, former gallery owner from Ulm, Germany.
