Janus figure – Baule – Wood – Ivory Coast

Powerful janus Baule figure from Ivory Coast. Baule statuettes usually vary from 10 to 60 cm in height. They are standing on a base with legs slightly bent, with their hands resting on their abdomen in a gesture of peace, and their elongated necks supporting a face with typically raised scarification and bulging eyes.
Good condition with shiny patina and beautiful coiffure.
