Ladder – Wood – Dogon – Mali (167 cm)

Enormous tribally used ladder from the Dogon tribe of Mali. The ladders are a simple, abstract, intelligent use of materials.

Carved from a naturally forked tree, indoor versions wear to a smooth glossy finish while outdoor versions develop a deeply weathered patina.

Good condition with a beautiful aged patina. The large piece measures 167 cm and weights 46 kg!
