Unusual large Kpeliyee mask from teh Senufo tribe of Ivory Coast. This classical mask diplays all the stylistic characteristics of Senufo art: a round face, a T-shaped nose and blobular eyes.
This refined face mask represent women, are danced by men, and are usually associated with the Poro association. Called “Beautiful Lady” masks, they come with many variations, with rich and complex symbolism.Typical wings with several scarifications on the mask.
