Description

The BAMBARA have all sorts of societies in which men pass stages, such as the ndomo, komo, nama, kono, tyi wara and kore, they constitute the different stages of initiation societies. Each society owns different masks.

Great wooden mask from the Marka / Bambara people of Mali. The mask has a beautiful aged patina.
Detailed scarification all over the face with typical coiffure.
