Mwana Hiti figure – Wood – Zaramo / Kwere – Tanzania

‘Mwana hiti’ means ‘a child of wood’.
In the first, these little figures are important for the initiation of girls.
With the dolls, the girls learn the role of adult women.
The wooden doll is in good condition with traces of tribal use and a wonderful patina of age.
