A loveley Luba neck rest, D.R. Congo. The neckrest has two kneeling ancestor figures sitting with their back to each other.
The wooden neck rest is widely used by women to protect their hairdo. When they lie on the support with their neck, there is no weight on the hair which allows the hairdo to stay intact.
Beautiful aged patina in good condition.
