Neck rest – Wood – Luba – Congo DRC

A beautiful  LUBA neck rest, D.R. Congo. It has a detailed figure with intricately carved face; beautiful patina.

The wooden neck rest is widely used by women to protect their hairdo. When they lie on the support with their neck, there is no weight on the hair which allows the hairdo to stay intact.
Beautiful aged patina, good condition.
