Power Figure – Wood – Songye – Congo

Great Songye power figure from DR Congo. Stylistic wooden ancestor figure of the SONGYE tribe from D.R. Congo. Great eye for detail.
It served to protect the family against diseases, accidents, bad spirits and bewitchment. Large pieces  where even used to protect whole villages.
Good condition with a beautiful aged patina.
