Ancient Ikul prestige Knife in wood and metal – KUBA – D.R of Congo. Beautiful stylish blade with a nice patina of age.
This knife named Ikul, can also be considered as a short sword.
According to the book “De Fer et de Fierté”, page 228, it is indicated that this kind of blade would be of a Pyaang origin, a people of renowned forgers.
These knives are part of the equipment of every free man. The blade is either made of forged iron, red copper or aluminium.
The wooden sword protector is still in tact and in fair condition and has a wonderful patina with engravings. The handle is damaged.
