Reliquary Figure – Wood – Mitsogho – Gabon

Stylistic Mitsogho reliquary figure mask from Gabon. Mitsogho objects were kept at the back of the Ebanza house, where the men`s cult met. They were covered in white pigments and were carved with an open mouth, a small triangular nose, and typical slanted eyes set under M-shaped brows.

Good ondition with traces of wear and tear. The Figure can`t stand on it`s own.
