Large wooden shrine panel form the IGBO people of NIGERIA. The wooden figure has a typical Ibo style expression. Beautiful covered in white clay phembe. Condition good with traces of tribal use.
Shrine figures and panels represent gods who provide protection, healing and good fortune in return for respect, sacrificial food and adherence to their rules. Their hands are extended to receive gifts, and open to indicate generosity and honesty.
