Description

Usually horns of slaughtered water buffalos were fixed on such poles.

Large wooden standing pole of the Toraja tribe of Sulawesi. This authentic pole has a marvellous patina of age. The pole is mounted on a stand and is considering the age in reasonable to good condition. Has clear traces of wear and tear, see the pictures. The recognizable patterns of the Toraja tribe are well preserved. Four ancestor figurines and a water buffalo can be found on the pole.

Comes with a custom made stand.
Have a look at the pictures for an own impression. The fragment can be viewed or picked up at the Asian African Art gallery in Vessem.
