Lobi people produce seats supported by three feet, and occasionally decorate them with a human or animal figure.
Stools become associated with the spirit of their owner and after the owner’s death are placed in a shrine as a means of communication between generations. Good condition with traces of tribal use. The front leg seemed to be restored in the past.

Provenance: former private collection from Belgium.
