Terracotta Head – Koma Bulsa – Ghana

This terracotta head figure from Koma Land, in northern Ghana and southern Burkina Faso, reflects the region’s ancient and highly distinctive sculptural tradition. Modelled by hand from coarse, iron‑rich clay, the piece shows the characteristic rounded head form, expressive facial features, and textured surface typical of Koma terracotta art.
