Ancestor Figure – Wood – Lega – Congo

Powerful Lega ancestor figure from DR Congo. These kind of statues  were used in instruction and initiation ceremonies into the five progressive levels of Bwami, the association that Lega men rise through with lifelong learning and deeds.  The figure is in good condition with traces of wear and tear. Including custom made stand!
