Stylistic ancestor figure from the Mangbetu tribe of DR Congo.
The figure has a typical high fan-shaped hairstyle and its body adorned with tattoos, the ideal of MANGBETU beauty. Mangbetu art is famous for it`s realism, is a court art objects were displayed in the king`s presence as prestige paraphernalia.
The figure is in good condition with great patina of age and carries a baby on her back.
