Ancestor Figure – Wood, Nail, glass – Yombe – Congo

Beautiful double headed Yombe ancestor figure from DR Congo. The wooden ancestor figure has a great patina of use, decorated with glass bilongo and nails.
The 300,000 YOMBE people are artistically prolific.
This superb example of Kongo sculpture shows the emphasis given to the head and detailed body.
Good condition with traces of tribal use and a beautiful aged patina.
