Ancestor Figure – Wood – Punu – Gabon

Beautiful Punu ancestor figure from Gabon. It is thought they were used as prestige objects, during magical cermonies, or were kept alongside the ancestral bones in a reliquary box. The forehead is covered with a typical scarifications and white kaoliën (phembe). Good condition with  traces of wear and tear.
