Bowl figure – Bamun – Grassland of Cameroon (81 cm)

Stunning bowl figure from the Bamun of the Grasslands of Cameroon. The large figure is carrying a bowl in his hands,  symbolize a divination rite. The diviner, covered, used this type of statue. In this bowl certain objects could be found and by analyzing the position of these objects the diviner could predict the future. Enormous piece with a beautiful patina. Total length: 81 cm, weight: 9500 gram!
