Rare terracotta fertility doll from the Chiki-Chiki people of Cameroon. Beautifully decorated with antelope skin and glass beads. If you shake the doll you hear a nice sound. Bamum fetishes are funny little benevolent figurines from Cameroon. Their rounded and expressive shapes are characteristic of the statuary of this ethnic group. Good condition with a warm shiny aged patina.
Provenance: Manfred Schäfer collection, ex- gallery owner from Ulm, Germany.
