A beautiful old Katanga Cross which was used as a means of payment for centuries in former Belgian Congo. They were already used as currency in the 14th century. They exist in several dimensions and shapes. The smallest is a few mm in size and weighs a few grams, the largest more than 10 kg.
A Katanga cross was used as a means of payment in Congo until the sixties of the 20th century.
