Description

The Kirdi inhabit the mountain area in northern Cameroon and eastern Nigeria.
Among these people are the Fali, the Bana, the Kapsiki and the Guilli. The women and girls wear pubic cloths that are made of colourful glass beads. These pubic cloths are worn on special occasions and used for traditional (dance) festivities. Such a ceremonial pubic cloth is called ‘pikuran’. After 1960 were not used anymore.
Also known as ‘Kirdi pubic apron’ or ‘beaded dance apron’.
This pubic apron is made of african beads.
Good condition with beautful use of colors white, green, red, yellow and black.
