Great Songye power figure from DR Congo. Stylistic wooden ancestor figure of the SONGYE tribe from D.R. Congo. Great eye for detail with a detailed face.
It served to protect the family against diseases, accidents, bad spirits and bewitchment. Large pieces where even used to protect whole villages.
Good condition with a beautiful aged patina.
