Beautiful wooden ancestor figure from the Igbo tribe of Nigeria.
Exhibiting a wide diversity in size, symbolism, intimacy and style. Commonly used as shrine figures, they were often objects of petitions or prayers for fertility and successful births.
Shrine figures represent gods who provide protection, healing and good fortune in return for respect, sacrificial food and adherence to their rules.
Good condition with traces of wear and tear. Beautiful old aged patina with traces of wear and tera.
