Ancestor figure – Wood, Metal – Ngbaka – Congo DRC

Wooden ancestor figure from the Ngbaka people of DR Congo. Typical large round shaped head.The artistic style of their statues and masks, is recognizable through their elongated features, a line of vertical scarification on the forehead. Please note the small wooden pegs which are place under the chin.
Good condition with a beautiful shiny patina of age.
