For hundreds of years the Maasai have created handmade jewellery in the form of beads and beadings, and it has been a very important part of their culture. Masai women save time every day to meet and work this form of handicraft, which includes colourful necklaces, bracelets and pendants. It is considered a duty of all Masai women to learn this craft. All the Masai necklaces and beads bracelets are handmade by the women, but they are used interchangeably, by both men and women alike.
